CalEnergy has been operational in Australia since the early 2000s. Whilst their Australian history has sat within natural gas primarily, the future pathway is into renewables. Technology-agnostic, they have already invested and acquired the Gunnedah and Suntop Solar Farms totalling 345 MWp in New South Wales.
CalEnergy locally manages different stages of project and asset maturity as part of the BHE strategy to invest in growth opportunities and acquire projects or assets that are additive to our business.
CalEnergy has established a framework to build out a growing renewable energy generation and storage pipeline in Australia.
**Purpose**
You will be the interface between the Business Development Director (Perth based) and the CEO's office (UK based) and have oversight of key executive management processes and reporting.
Providing focus to a geographically dispersed team, you will support the group's pursuit, evaluation, and delivery of new energy investments. You will "hold the pen" in new investment proposals performance reporting, presentations, and briefing material on behalf of the Business Development Director.
**Responsibilities**
- Integrate multi-disciplinary datasets spanning commercial, operations and technical to communicate viability of new, and the status of, existing projects
- Support the identification and advocation of accretive acquisition opportunities
- Custodian of, and responsible on behalf of the Business Development Director, for all outgoing presentations, proposals, and memoranda
- Support engagement with CEO's office (UK based) and Finance Directorate (UK Based)
- Working with functional leads integrate and consolidate technical and economic analysis and results into coherent executive level messaging
- Be an agile worker; working effectively under pressure and across conflicting time zones to manage, coordinate and drive at pace the production of key deliverables for the Business Development Director and other members of the Executive. This will require the generation of content on time and to a high standard, often under time-constrained conditions.
- Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of technological, environmental, and social changes effecting the commercial development of upstream and renewable projects and operations in Australia and Europe
**About You**
Executive lens' and condense the information into a concise narrative capable of understanding by a diverse audience.
- Possess a global mindset with respect to energy markets inclusive of upstream gas and renewable energy.
- A working knowledge of asset life-cycle spanning development, construction, and operation of capital intensive upstream or renewable energy generation assets in Australia would be highly advantageous
- Contemporary understanding of industry trends, regulations, and third-party expertise in the critical analysis of renewable generation projects or assets.
- An understanding of global upstream energy markets and the interplay with local (Australian, European) energy markets.
- Exceptional analytical skills to manipulate large amounts of technical, commercial and/or economic data.
- Ability to take ownership, use initiative, improvise, and deliver solutions in the face of conflicting project requirements and project timelines.
- Skills in Sharepoint, Microsoft Office suite. Expert in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills required for presentations, report and proposal writing, including the ability to express detailed, deeply technical, or highly numeric analysis to non-technical and non-financial laypersons.
- Degree qualified (Mathematics, Finance, Economics, Commerce, Law). Master of Business Administration or secondary technical qualifications in Science (Earth or physical sciences) or Engineering (mechanical, civil, electrical, renewable energy) will be highly regarded.
The ability to work collaboratively with a geographically diverse team will be essential as is the ability to work effectively and virtually while being adaptive to conflicting time zones is essential.
