Join our Valuation Modelling & Economics (VME) division. As a pivotal leader in a global network of over 10,000 experts across 100 nations, you will provide high‐level counsel to clients on capital preservation, optimisation, acquisition and investment strategies. Our EY Parthenon service line encompasses specialised groups such as Mergers and Acquisitions, Project Finance, Corporate Restructuring, Operational Transaction Services, Transaction Support, Transaction Tax and VME.
Senior Consultant – Decision Modelling (VME)
You will be part of our Decision Modelling team in VME during a period of strong growth. In this hybrid role, you can be based in Meanjin – Brisbane, Warrang – Sydney, Naarm – Melbourne or Ngambri – Canberra.
Your Key Responsibilities
* Spend your time delivering and reviewing a wide range of engagements, including financial modelling, decision support, transaction analytics, macroeconomic forecasting, scenario analysis, options analysis and business case development.
* Assume a leadership role in report generation and detailed financial modelling.
* Build and nurture positive, professional relationships with both internal and external clients.
* Collaborate effectively with team members, mentor colleagues and stay informed about current business and economic trends relevant to clients.
* Seize new business opportunities, participating in client proposals and presentations to grow the valuation practice.
* Mentor and develop junior team members through delegation and hands‐on training, fostering an inclusive and innovative team environment.
Skills And Attributes For Success
* A bachelor's degree with around 3‐5 years of relevant work experience.
* Exceptional numerical and analytical skills, preferably with a degree in Accounting & Finance, Economics, Engineering or Data Science.
* Highly desirable knowledge in venture capital, investment banking, commercial banking, strategy and/or financial research.
* Experience in business development and client management.
* Strong financial modelling skills with the ability to create financial models based on strategic financial business plans.
* Ability to manage project expenditures against budget and revenue, and provide guidance to team members to ensure the completion of deliverables.
* Technical expertise in Excel‐based business and financial modelling, and experience or awareness with analytics tools such as data visualisation, VBA, SQL, Alteryx, Power Query / Pivot / BI and geo‐spatial tools / modelling.
