Job Description
The Support Teacher: Inclusive Education Senior Years plays a pivotal role in empowering students of all abilities by utilizing innovative teaching strategies to meet their unique learning needs and drive outstanding educational outcomes.
1. Creating a nurturing and ordered learning environment which is learner-centred, supportive, cooperative and aligned with relevant curriculum policies, documents and practices relating to students with a disability.
2. Collaboratively developing and implementing quality inclusive education practices, curriculum programs and appropriate pedagogy; evaluating their effectiveness; assessing and reporting student progress and learning outcomes; and reporting these to students, parents and the community.
3. Implementing effective, adaptive, inclusive and equitable practices and teaching strategies.
4. Oversee the development of Personalised Support Plans which clearly outline adjustment requirements in language discernible by teachers and comply with all evidence requirements for NCCD timelines.
5. Proactively and collaboratively engaging in professional renewal practices to enhance student outcomes.
6. Working collaboratively with the leadership team, teachers and other staff members in contributing to the professional life of the school.
7. Providing effective supervision of students.
8. Establishing positive relationships in the pastoral care of students and supporting their spiritual and moral development.
9. Encouraging the involvement of the school and students in the life of the church.
10. Engaging the wider community in learning and teaching programs.
11. Supporting the school in special events and celebrations.
