**Technical Application Specialist**
**Reporting to: Technical Application Specialist Supervisor**
**Location: Melbourne or Sydney**
**How will you make an impact?**
You will support our customers, creating the best possible experience with clinical diagnostics products and support the business by providing pre
- and post-sales technical support, creating demand, accelerating sales and building market share.
**What will you do?**
- Take ownership to resolve and/or escalate customer issues and complaints
- Accurately record pertinent information from customer contacts in Customer Relationship Management system.
- Support the Thermo Fisher Scientific business by partnering with the commercial team to drive customer success and business growth
- LOM management and execution
- Collaborate with Product Management to develop technical selling strategies.
- Delivers comprehensive technical training for customers and colleagues.
- Summarize trends and technology as technical tips, FAQ's and troubleshooting guides.
- Present technical updates to colleagues and contribute to department meetings.
- Participate in additional special team or individual projects.
- Will be required to assist with lab/field-based customer trainings, projects.
- May be required to perform other related duties as opportunities arise.
**How will you get here?**
- BSc or MSc in a scientific discipline preferred
- Minimum of 3+ years of industry or related work experience.
**What will you put you ahead of the competition?**
- 1+ year of working with Thermo Fisher's clinical diagnostics instruments preferred.
- Experience in a customer-facing role and/or providing technical and industrial presentations to a variety of audiences is strongly preferred.
- Extensive hands-on / lab experience with the products/techniques
- A customer-facing personality, including the ability to build positive relationships and engage in technical discussions with customers.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to travel up to 20% of the time
