Position: Motor Mechanic
Position Type: Full-Time
Salary: $76,515 to $82,000 plus superannuation per annum
Location: Hillcrest SA 5086
Our client is seeking a skilled Motor Mechanic to join their team located in Hillcrest, South Australia.
As a Motor Mechanic you will carry out repairs, maintenance, and inspections on customer vehicles to the highest safety and quality standards while minimising downtime.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Perform scheduled servicing, diagnostics, and repairs on vehicles in accordance with manufacturer guidelines.
2. Complete job cards accurately, including time clocking and parts used.
3. Report additional faults to Service Advisor/Team Lead promptly for customer authorization.
4. Follow workshop safety procedures, including lockout/tagout, safe lifting, and PPE use. Maintain cleanliness of work bay and ensure tools/equipment are in good working order.
5. Support apprentices with training and guidance where required.
6. Escalate warranty and recall work to Service Advisor for processing.
7. Carry out and follow warranty procedure guidelines to ensure prompt approval by manufacturer and a smooth claim process.
8. Adhere to dealership and OEM quality standards.
9. Replacing damaged or worn parts if needed
10. Running tests after completing repairs using the correct tools or software
11. Using diagnostic computers and special tools to identify faults.
Requirements:
1. Certificate III in Light Motor Vehicle Technology
2. Certificate IV in Light Motor Vehicle-Diagnosis
3. Minimum one (1) year of relevant experience
4. Valid drivers licence
5. Ability to drive auto and manual vehicles
6. Strong mechanical aptitude & knowledge
7. Can do attitude and a willingness to help everyone
8. Direct involvement in delivering customer service excellence
9. Ability to meet deadlines & carry out instructions as required in a timely manner
10. Able to comply with manufacturer and dealership repair processes, policies and procedures
11. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
12. Able to work in a team environment & contribute to dealership goals/targets
13. The ability to work independently, as well as part of a team
14. Reliable and consistent in nature.
