About us: The Education and Research Unit provides Nursing and Midwifery education, professional practice development services, and Clinical Practice Improvement initiatives for nursing and midwifery staff to facilitate best practice health service delivery. Led by the Nursing Director of Education and Research, the unit supports Nurse Educators, Midwifery Educators, Clinical Nurse Consultants, Clinical Placement Coordinators, Clinical Facilitators, Student Facilitators, Librarians, and the Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner service. Nurse Educators in Gladstone, Emerald, Aged Care, and Mental Health have professional links with the unit.
About the role: Resources have been allocated to enhance the existing Hospital in the Home (HITH) service to include a Geriatric Evaluation Management service at patients' homes. This multidisciplinary, geriatrician-led model aims to improve health outcomes, avoid unnecessary hospitalizations, and reduce hospital stay lengths.
The Nurse Educator, a Registered Nurse Grade 7, is responsible for designing, implementing, and assessing nursing education programs. This role includes managing educational resources and providing nursing expertise related to educational issues within CQ Health.
About you: A Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent is mandatory. Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA and a current annual practising certificate. A relevant postgraduate qualification at AQF level 9 with a significant component of clinical education or a research higher degree is required. If not currently held, commitment to completing this qualification within an agreed timeframe is expected. What we offer: Total monthly remuneration of up to $6,842, comprising:
