Orise Australia has an exciting opportunity for an experienced, dynamic and enthusiastic individual, keen to take the next step in developing their career in a multi-national organisation.

About the Role

An experienced Financial Controller and Finance Business Partner to support and oversee all aspects of operational financial and accounting management including financial accounting, corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, financial risk management as well as development and implementation of internal control policies and procedures, driving business financial and operating performance and improving operational efficiency and effectiveness of Orise Australia business entity.

Responsibilities

* Proactively manage all finance and accounting operations in driving financial and operating performance of Orise Australia business entity.
* Maintain and ensure that financial records of the organization comply with the Group Accounting Principles, Generally Accepted Accounting principles (GAAP), IFRS and to the local Australian statutory laws and financial regulations.
* Preparing and publishing timely monthly financial statements and reports in accordance with GAAP, IFRS, group consolidation reporting package, covering month-end closing and forecasting exercise.
* Preparing entity profitability analysis and SGA and fixed assets control and management.
* Support budgeting process of Orise Australia business entity.
* Providing comprehensive financial updates to business senior management by evaluating, analyzing, performing variance analysis and reporting appropriate data points to help improve operational efficiency and aid in continued growth of business entity.
* Drive finance operations team to achieve day-to-day tasks related to posting of supplier/sub-contractor invoicing, managed debtors and creditors data entry, progress claims and billing for projects, business bank account reconciliation and timely payments as per agreed terms.
* Liaise with auditors and tax advisors on the preparation of annual statutory financial statements and annual corporate tax computation.
* Developing, implementing and enhancing controlling processes, policies and standard operating procedures (SOP) for Orise Australia business entity.
* Driving effective and efficient working capital and cash flow management of the business entity.
* Support debt management and collection as well as cash flow management of the business.
* Carry out ad hoc assignments as requested from time to time.

Business Performance Management

* Prepare business unit profitability and financial analysis of key performance indicators (booking, revenue, GM, backlog, utilization, cost rate, sales rate) as well as red project analysis.
* Project financial reporting with actual performance & forecasting update of core value drivers.
* Backlog & booking waterfall analysis report update in OneStream.
* Business review report update with variance analysis against forecast and budget.
* Evaluate financial performance of the business unit, identify risks, provide management an insight on major financial issues as well as recommendation to improve operational efficiency and support the continued growth of the business unit.
* Align with cross-functional teams – HR, Operations, to update and consolidate end of month reporting and drive performance outcomes to be presented during the periodic business reviews.

Project & Service Controlling

* Monitor and report project KPIs.
* Prepare project status reports, updating progress against the work schedules including timely billing and collection (invoicing and collection plan).
* Hold monthly operation and project reviews with local management and project managers to ensure projects evolve according to expectations.
* Identify risks and define mitigation strategies in alignment with project manager.
* Enhance project controlling processes, tools and documentation for on-going efficiency and effectiveness improvement.

Bid Approval

* Review of customer bids to ensure correct hourly rates are used and the target margin is met.
* Steer the Bid approval process from a financial perspective.
* Carry out ad-hoc-assignments upon request.

Qualifications

* Relevant university degree in finance and/or accounting, and a qualified accountant.
* 8 or more years of professional finance and controlling experience, including financial reporting, internal controls, and finance systems and processes and ideally in a matrix organization.
* Accounting background (local GAAP, IFRS), preferably in project controlling experience (not mandatory including Percentage of Completion method).
* Driving results in a continuous improvement / data-driven culture.
* Ability to develop financial controls and reporting capabilities across the region.
* Ability to work autonomously, collaboratively and multi-task priorities in a fast-paced project-oriented business.
* Strong analytical and collaboration skills.
* Ability to solve problems, deal with ambiguity at times and demonstrate intuitive judgment.
* Commitment with ability to work under pressure.
* Able to effectively prioritize, simplify and communicate priorities.
* Customer-focused mindset and willingness to go the extra miles.
* Ability to take initiatives and to complete multiple tasks within tight deadlines.
