Your position and responsibilities
As our Coordinator, Strategic Planner, you will be Council'sstrategic planning subject matter expert and lead a team of professionalplanners to deliver major strategic planning projects. Your mainresponsibilities will include:
- Leada team of strategic planners to deliver expert advice and outcomes onplanning proposals, developments, and development applications.
- Drivehigh‐quality strategic planning projects with a strong focus on communityengagement.
- Overseethe preparation and implementation of planning proposals, developmentcontrols, and land‐use frameworks and guidelines.
- Leadthe drafting, review, assessment, and updating of key planning documents,including the Local Environmental Plan, Development Control Plan, andLocal Strategic Planning Statement.
- Conductresearch and analysis to inform and update land‐use planning and urbandesign documents, including vision statements, strategies, plans,controls, standards, and policies.
- Completestrategic reviews of rezoning proposals and related infrastructure toprovide expert advice and support sustainable outcomes within time andbudget.
- Deliverhigh‐quality customer service to all stakeholders.
- Leadand support day‐to‐day operational activities as required.
You will bring strong experience in strategic and statutoryplanning, along with a solid understanding of land‐use and developmentprocesses. You will have a genuine passion for shaping the future of ourcommunity and create social, environmental, economic, cultural, andrecreational opportunities.
To be successful in this role
You will bring a strong foundation in strategic land useplanning, supported by the skills and experience needed to lead, collaborate,and communicate with confidence. You will have:
- Atertiary qualification in Urban Planning or a related discipline, alongwith extensive experience as a strategic planner.
- Demonstratedcapability in statutory planning, assessment, and translating planningstrategies into effective plans and policies.
- Theability to lead a team while also working autonomously to deliver timely,high‐quality outcomes.
- Stronginterpersonal skills, enabling you to communicate effectively andsensitively while building productive relationships with a wide range ofstakeholders.
- Excellentwritten and verbal communication skills.
- Confidencerepresenting Council in public forums in a professional and informedmanner.
- Highlydeveloped research, analytical, time‐management, and project managementskills.
- Flexibilityto work outside standard hours, including weekends, when required.
- Willingnessto complete pre-employment checks including a police check andpre-employment medical
- Holda valid NSW Drivers Licence and NSW General Construction Induction Card(White Card)
