About the role
An exciting part-time opportunity of 30 hours a week, has become available for a Functions Manager to join the team at Darwin Surf Life Saving in Casuarina, NT. In this role, you will be responsible for the strategic planning, organisation and delivery of all functions and events at our beachside facilities.
What you'll be doing
* Overseeing the planning and execution of corporate events, weddings, conferences and other functions
* Liaising with clients to understand their requirements and translate them into unforgettable experiences
* Coordinating and managing all logistical elements including catering, audiovisual, staffing and venue setup
* Ensuring exceptional customer service and attention to detail throughout the event lifecycle
* Monitoring budgets and controlling costs to maximise profitability
* Identifying new business opportunities and generating sales through effective networking and marketing
* Managing a team of events staff and volunteers to deliver high-quality events
What we're looking for
* Experience in a similar functions or events management role, ideally within the hospitality or tourism industry
* Ability to manage all Bar operations and run the events on the night.
* Strong interpersonal and client liaison skills with the ability to build lasting relationships
* Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities to juggle multiple priorities and events simultaneously
* Familiarity with event management software and technology to streamline operations
* Passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences and creating memorable events
* Demonstrated success in meeting financial targets and maximising revenue
* Current Responsible serving of alcohol certificate
* Drivers licence
* Ability to pass a criminal history check and gain an Ochre card (Working with children card).
