* Remuneration: AUD 70,000–90,000 + superannuation
* Experience required: 1 to 3 years relevant irrigation / horticulture / farm irrigation experience
Role Overview
As an Irrigation Technician with Hillston Workforce, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, servicing, and repairing irrigation systems on farms, ensuring efficient water delivery to crops, horticulture, and agricultural operations across our client farms.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
* Install irrigation systems for farms including pipelines, pumps, valves, meters, and controllers as per irrigation design and farm requirements.
* Determine hydraulic parameters and system setup for effective irrigation based on farm layout and crop needs.
* Test, maintain, and repair existing irrigation infrastructure, including pumps, pipes, valves, control systems, and sensors to ensure reliable water delivery.
* Schedule and coordinate irrigation maintenance and servicing tasks according to farm production cycles.
* Work alongside farm management, co‑workers, and workforce crews supplied by Hillston Workforce to ensure proper watering and farm operations.
* Adhere to safety standards, occupational health protocols, and compliance requirements as per labour‑hire arrangements.
Selection Criteria / Skills & Qualifications
* Minimum 1 to 3 years of relevant experience in irrigation system installation/maintenance or horticulture/farming irrigation work.
* Familiarity with irrigation systems including pumps, valves, piping, irrigation controllers, and scheduling water delivery.
* Basic understanding of hydraulic parameters and water management in agricultural or horticultural settings.
* Ability to work outdoors, perform physical tasks, and manage maintenance work reliably.
* Good communication skills and ability to collaborate with farm teams, workforce hire staff, management, and adapt to different farm environments.
* Reliable, safety‑conscious, compliant with labour‑hire standards, and commitment to high‑quality workmanship.
* Flexibility to work according to farm production cycles and willingness to travel or relocate within the Griffith/NSW region if required.
