Senior Policy Officer – Veteran Health & Wellbeing Policy (APS6 Contract)
Join a high-performing policy team delivering meaningful reforms and practical advice that supports veterans and their families. You'll work across policy development, analysis, briefs and stakeholder engagement—helping shape initiatives tied to health, wellbeing and broader government priorities.
Location: ACT, NSW, VIC, TAS, SA, QL
Contract Duration: ASAP start to 30 June 2026 (contract)
Security Clearance Requirement: Baseline clearance required
Closing Date: 19 January 2026 – 10:00am
Essential Tasks:
* Develop and implement policy initiatives aligned to government priorities.
* Prepare high-quality briefs, correspondence, reports and discussion papers.
* Analyse data and research to inform technical policy advice and recommendations.
* Engage stakeholders to gather input and support policy development projects.
Key Criteria:
* Demonstrated experience developing and implementing policy (highly regarded).
* Strong understanding of government processes (e.g., legislation, budget cycles).
* Excellent writing skills, including translating technical issues into clear advice.
* Proven ability to build relationships and collaborate across diverse stakeholders.
