At St Patrick's College, our students have the opportunity to develop increasingly sophisticated and refined mathematical understanding, fluency, communication, reasoning, analytical thought and problem-solving skills. We are passionate about mathematics and focused on giving all students the confidence to grow and develop their mathematical abilities.

Permanent full-time position commencing Tuesday 27 January 2026.

We are seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Secondary Mathematics Teacher with a talent for engaging students to think mathematically through questioning, communicating, reasoning and reflecting. You will be adept at fostering students ability to find connections and understand complex mathematical concepts at a level that every student can grasp, irrespective of ability.

You will be committed to the achievement of excellence as a classroom teacher; a strong collaborator; and, confident in effective pedagogy and classroom management. With a thorough content knowledge and mastery of the curriculum, you will be someone who is committed delivering the best possible teaching practices and learning experiences.

To be successful in this role you will be able to demonstrate you satisfy all of the following essential selection criteria:

Essential Criteria

- A working understanding of, and commitment to the Catholic ethos of a School in the Edmund Rice tradition.
- Demonstrated understanding of appropriate behaviours and professional boundaries that reflect child safeguarding values in practice.
- Qualified to teach Mathematics - Stage 4 to Stage 6 with NESA Accreditation and approval to teach in NSW.
- Demonstrated excellence as a classroom practitioner.
- Demonstrates effective classroom management through clear expectations, proactive behaviour strategies, and fostering a positive learning environment.
- Demonstrated success in differentiation of curriculum.
- Effectively incorporates ICT into teaching, learning, and assessment to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.

- 2.Current CV (maximum five pages) outlining your qualifications, experience and skills together with the contact information for three (3) referees (at least two must be from your current employer).

A working understanding of, and a commitment to the Catholic ethos of a school in the Edmund Rice tradition, a valid Working with Children clearance and participation in the co-curricular program, are essential conditions of employment.

Evidence of a valid WWCC clearance will be required prior to employment.
