Role Overview:
The Aboriginal Mental Health Liaison position involves providing clinical and cultural input to consumers and their treating teams, as well as education and training services to health professionals regarding mental health issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
This role requires building and maintaining effective relationships with relevant community service agencies to provide collaborative, integrated, and coordinated care.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide clinical and cultural input to consumers and their treating teams
* Education and training services to health professionals on mental health and associated issues
* Maintain effective working relationships with community service agencies
Selection Criteria:
* Pursuant to Section 50(d) of the Equal Employment Opportunities Act 1984, the occupant must be of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent
* Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander family structures, cultures, and customs
* Demonstrated interpersonal skills, including problem-solving, negotiation, and partnership development
