As a Senior Energy Market Analyst at Eku Energy, you will play a key role in analyzing and providing insights on energy market trends and developments.

Responsibilities of the role.Your role will comprise the following key responsibilities:Build and maintain market optimization models to identify market dynamics, outlooks and investment opportunities.Run and maintain existing python models and support model development workCollect, evaluate and interpret market and/or technical data to provide actionable insights and recommendationsDesign and set up database tables, collect and manage market and operations data; build analysis tools for assessing market opportunities and energy storage trading performance etcResearch global energy markets rules and trends to accurately understand energy storage operations and energy market potentials.Develop strategies, reports, graphical outputs of revenue and system dispatch to support energy market investigation and business case developmentCollaborate with cross functional teams to assist in advising all phases of project/program/investment development and execution, including due diligence, selection, integration, design, delivery, commissioning, and operationMentor other members of the TMT team as requiredQualifications:Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Economics, Data Science, Engineering).
Minimum 5 years of experience in electricity market analysis or related field in an APAC country or region, preferably from a utility or consulting companyStrong knowledge of energy markets, in particular electricity and renewable energy sectorsHands-on experience with market optimization tools (such as Plexos) with an ability to interpret resultsIntermediate to advanced python skills with experience in data manipulation and modellingExcellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information in a clear and engaging mannerAbility to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environmentStrong attention to detail and problem-solving skillsPassion for data analytics and clean energy and sustainabilityPrevious experience in the energy storage industry is a plusBased in Melbourne or SydneyCompetencies required of all our peopleOrganisational: Entrepreneurial thinking and acting - problem solving capability - innovation capability – proactive 'can do' attitude.Social: Highly motivated with a versatile personality - excellent interpersonal skills - client orientation, communicative - collaborative - keenness to knowledge share.Implementation: Self-management - result and solution orientated - quality awareness - Welfare, Health, Safety and Environmentally focused.Culture: Helps to build a foundation of trust – creates stability – instils kindness – provides structure – is and fosters accountability – cultivates a spirit of reliability – fosters respect.Our commitment to Diversity, Equity and InclusionThe diversity of our people is one of our greatest strengths.
