Organisational Environment
Nambour Community Centre (NCC) is a registered charity with Public Benevolent Institution status and its genesis in the 1980's as a Meeting Place – a grassroots self-help centre open to all members of the community. In 1998, Nambour Community Centre Inc was born along with a new building that still houses the centre today. The first AGM was held in November 1999, and since that period, NCC has gone from strength to strength by taking a developmental approach to its community and the delivery of its programs.
NCC employs around 15 staff, has ~20+ volunteers and has a revenue budget approximating $1.4m. Our programs include thriving families and family support, community development and support, supporting new migrants access services and supporting a multicultural society, supporting community to access basic dignity facilities and emergency relief.
In 2022/23 NCC developed a new strategic plan, which outlines our vision as a community committed to social justice and collective wellbeing, empowering people to flourish by working together to foster a healthy, connected and inclusive community. Our values are respect, empowerment, social justice and connection.
We are currently working toward our next Strategic Plan for the period.
