Security Architect – NSW Government $1,200 + super per day | Contract until 31 December 2026 Sydney | Hybrid / Flexible working
A major NSW Government Department is seeking a Security Architect to support a critical cyber security uplift program across the Department of Customer Service (DCS) and its agencies.This is a hands-on architecture role working across enterprise platforms to design, implement and uplift security controls in a complex, modern environment.ABOUT THE ORGANISATIONDCS is transforming how NSW Government agencies interact with customers by putting people first and leveraging modern technology. The Cyber and Information Security Office is delivering a significant program of work to uplift cyber maturity, reduce risk, and strengthen organisational resilience against cyber threats.This role is pivotal in shaping and delivering security outcomes across multiple agencies and platforms.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIESDesign and develop enterprise-level security architectures and control frameworksLead hands-on implementation of selected security solutionsProvide expert security advice to CISO and technology teams across DCS agenciesArchitect security controls across cloud, identity, applications and CI/CD pipelinesContribute to DevSecOps practices and secure-by-design initiativesProduce clear, practical documentation for implemented solutionsCollaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders across governmentYOUR BACKGROUNDProven experience as a hands-on Security Architect in complex enterprise environmentsStrong technical depth across Azure, AWS, Microsoft 365, identity and cloud securityExperience securing CI/CD pipelines, developer tooling and DevSecOps platformsBackground in software development and security automationStrong scripting capability (PowerShell and similar tools)Excellent stakeholder engagement and ability to translate risk into practical controlsPrior government or large-scale enterprise experience highly regardedWHAT’S ON OFFER$1,200 + super per dayContract through to the end of 2026High-impact cybersecurity uplift work across the NSW GovernmentFlexible/hybrid working arrangementsOpportunity to work with leading security technologies at scaleHOW TO APPLYIf you’re a Security Architect looking to make a real impact within NSW Government, we’d love to hear from you.
