About The Role
The Children's Health Queensland (CHQ) RN Pool is your chance to work across diverse specialist areas at a world-class, person-centred facility. The Nursing Pool provides a highly skilled and flexible paediatric workforce to meet the emergent, short term and peak demands for staffing for Children's Health Queensland Hospital and Health Service.
The Key Objectives Of The Service Are
* Safe, high quality and clinically effective specialist paediatric health care delivered in a clinically appropriate time as cost effectively as possible.
* An engaged, productive and harmonious workforce with the right qualifications, knowledge, skills and experience.
* A collaborative family-centred approach in which children, young people and their families are at the centre of all we do and are engaged with mutual respect and timely, open communication.
* Zero serious safety events in a culture where staff are constantly aware of the potential for harm, report problems, learn from experience, and strengthen the defences that protect patients, staff and others from harm.
* Consistent delivery of a patient experience that exceeds patients', families' and referrers' expectations.
* Continuous drive for innovation and improvements in the way holistic family-centred complex paediatric nursing care is provided.
The Registered Nurse (RN) working at the QCH delivers safe compassionate clinical care, working collaboratively with the Healthcare team to achieve best practice patient outcomes. The RN engages in reflective, analytical practice through effective assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of direct person-centred care. Nursing Pool staff are recruited and managed to maintain the required level of competence to practice safely in the specialised areas in which they are deployed. Pool nurses are aware of their personal responsibility to maintain a high level of competence in paediatric nursing and are provided with relevant opportunities for learning and professional development including performance development and planning (PDP).
