We're looking for dependable, hands-on team players to join our fast-paced bakery kitchen as Pastry Production Chef.
This is a solid opportunity for someone who enjoys working with their hands, thrives in a team setting, and takes pride in getting the job done right.
You'll be prepping ingredients, keeping the workspace organised, prepping sausage roll mix, spinach roll mix, making pie mixes, making pies, pastries and helping with basic production tasks.
You don't need to be a pastry expert—just reliable, eager to learn, and ready to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Measure, weigh, and prepare ingredients (e.g., flour, sugar, dairy, fruits, nuts, etc.) according to recipes and batch requirements
Assist with basic baking tasks such as mixing dough, portioning batter, or assembling baked goods
Label, date, and store prepped ingredients and finished products properly
Keep prep stations and kitchen equipment clean, sanitized, and organised
Assist bakers and pastry chefs during busy production periods
Follow all food safety and hygiene regulations (e.g., HACCP, ServSafe guidelines)
Monitor inventory levels and report shortages or spoilage
Perform routine cleaning duties, including dishwashing and sanitising tools and surfaces
Support other kitchen tasks as assigned
Working Conditions:
Heavy lifting required
Fast-paced kitchen environment with exposure to hot ovens, mixers, and other commercial kitchen equipment
Requires standing for extended periods, lifting up to 30 kgs, and frequent use of hands for chopping, mixing, and handling kitchen tools
Qualifications:
Basic understanding of pastry techniques, dough handling, and finishing methods
A good eye for detail and visual presentation
Ability to work efficiently, cleanly, and consistently under pressure
Willingness to learn and take direction in a collaborative team environment
Food Handler Certification or ability to obtain one
Previous kitchen or bakery experience preferred, especially in pastry or dessert production
Prep Chef Level 1
