Position Overview:

We are seeking a proactive and experienced Financial Controller to oversee the financial operations of our growing organisation. This role is pivotal in supporting our leadership team with strategic financial insights, ensuring compliance, and strengthening long-term sustainability.

This is a part-time 0.6 FTE position spread across 3 or 4 days per week. This position is suitable for someone based in Perth. Although home-based, this position will transition to a hybrid role once P2P has a head office likely in central Perth.

Pregnancy to Parenthood (P2P) is a non-profit organisation dedicated to promoting optimal infant and early childhood mental health while supporting parental wellbeing during the perinatal period (pregnancy to age three).

We provide clinical and home-based services in Metropolitan WA and Geraldton, offering a multi-pronged approach to care.

About the Role:

As our Financial Controller you'll play a key role in overseeing all aspects of P2P's financial management. Your responsibilities will include:

Oversee daily financial operations in collaboration with our outsourced accounting provider.

Lead the transition of outsourced finance functions back in-house.

Manage annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial modelling.

Prepare and present timely financial reports to the Executive Leadership Team and Board.

Monitor compliance with financial regulations, grant obligations, and internal policies.

Provide financial input into funding proposals and strategic decision-making.

Build strong working relationships with stakeholders, including auditors and banks.

About You:

You're a hands-on financial expert with strong technical skills, strategic acumen, and a genuine passion for supporting community-focused organisations. You're just as confident navigating spreadsheets as you are advising leaders.

What You'll Bring:

Degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA/CA qualification preferred).

Minimum 10 years' experience in financial management, ideally in the not-for-profit sector.

Sound knowledge of NFP compliance, fund accounting, and grant reporting.

Proficiency in Xero and Microsoft Excel.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote setting.

A proactive, organised and solutions-focused approach.

Alignment with P2P's mission, values and commitment to family wellbeing.

Experience transitioning financial systems or managing outsourced providers.

Familiarity with Power BI, Microsoft Dynamics, Employment Hero or other CRM/HR systems.

Knowledge of Perinatal and Infant Mental Health (PIMH) principles or experience in community health.
