Talent International is currently recruiting for an **APS6 Freedom of Information (FOI) Decision maker **to work for one of our **Federal Government clients** based in **Wollongong. **The position is **12-month contract role with the possibility of extension** and are paying **$58.50 per hour + Super**.***
7.6 hours per day and 38 hours per week.
The APS6 FOI Delegate (Labour Hire) will, under limited direction, assist the team in the coordination of Freedom of Information (FOI) requests made to the Agency and will ensure the Agency meets its legal obligations in relation to the Freedom of Information Act 1982 (Cth) [FOI Act].
The role will assist the team with Participant Information Access (PIA) requests made to the Agency and will ensure the Agency meets its KPIs in relation to PIA requests. The role will be a delegated FOI and PIA decision-maker and will make robust FOI and PIA decisions.
The APS6 FOI Delegate (Labour Hire) will perform work that involves team leadership and management responsibilities requiring the setting of priorities and managing workflows of a team. The role will also contribute to the development of the Agency's information handling requirements.
The position will, under limited supervision, manage relationships with stakeholders within the NDIA, Government agencies, the Ministers Office and the Office of the Information Commissioner.
**Responsibilities may include but are not limited to**:
- Being responsible for FOI matters including consulting with relevant line areas, making FOI decisions and ensuring all matters, including complex and sensitive matters, are recorded and closed correctly on all databases in accordance with the FOI Act.
- Managing the priorities of clients and available resources to deliver results on time and within budget.
- Mentoring and supporting, where necessary, FOI Action Officers to ensure timely processing of FOI requests.
- Preparing and contributing to a range of other material including briefing material for Ministers, Board papers, media releases, reports to Parliamentary committees, and correspondence.
- Supporting the development of systems, processes and practical tools including delivering training to support FOI and PIA handling and awareness.
- Assisting and making PIA decisions as a PIA delegate where required.
