The Principal Researcher and Coordinator (Secretariat), provides support to the Domestic and Family Violence Death Review and Advisory Board.
The Secretariat is responsible for supporting the Board, under the direction of the Chairperson and are responsible for:
- all administrative tasks associated with the functioning of the Board including meeting arrangements, travel and remuneration to members
- ensuring the timely provision of coronial investigation documents in relation to domestic and family violence deaths to the Board in accordance to the Administrative Arrangements - the gathering of additional information, including records from relevant agencies and expert reports as required by the Board.
- drafting reports, including the Annual Report or any other documentation as required by, and at the direction of, the Board.
- Undertaking Coronial reviews may also be part of this role; however, the primary focus of this position is fulfilling Secretariat responsibilities. The role reports to the Manager, DFVDRU.
The DFVDRU is further responsible for comprehensive data collection and analysis in relation to deaths identified as related to DFV; and in contributing to projects.
