The Opportunity
In this newly created role, the Senior Payroll Advisor (Projects) will support the Group Payroll Manager by being the main point of contact as you work together to deliver a variety of concurrent compliance projects for a business undergoing an immense period of change.
* Investigating complex pay-related enquiries and resolving them within agreed timeframes
* Analysing discrepancies, conducting reconciliations and remedying root causes
* Supporting ongoing analysis/review and/or changes of Payroll processes that result in process and procedural improvement
* Calculating and processing remediation payments to employees (including Lump Sum Payments, Tax assessments and Superannuation shortfalls)
* Reviewing Payroll outputs from the operational team to confirm compliance with Awards, Fair Work Act, NES, Superannuation Guarantee, PAYG, and Payroll Tax obligations
* Upholding internal controls for Payroll Tax, Super, and Payroll compliance ensuring audit actions are implemented and maintained (under the direction of the Group Payroll Manager)

This is a newly created position that will present you with the opportunity to stamp your mark as a Payroll SME in a highly visible role across an established, iconic and hugely successful Australian business entering its next phase of growth. While the contract is initially 12 months, there is a strong likelihood the role will either be extended or transition to permanent.
Ideal Applicants
Tenured Payroll Professionals with at least 5 – 8 years' recent experience with the following skill set are encouraged to apply:
TechnicalStrong understanding of federal/modern awards, Enterprise Agreements and statutory Payroll legislation (Superannuation, Taxation)
AnalyticalHigh attention to detail with strong analytical, problem-solving and process improvement skills (MS Excel is one of your strengths)
OrganisationalAdaptable/flexible in fast-paced and complex multi-stakeholder work environments with a proactive approach to deadlines and issue resolution
CommunicationDemonstrated ability building strong and proactive relationships with a multitude of internal and external stakeholders
