The Arthur Petersen Diversionary Centre (APDC) provides a diversion from custody service through a rest and recovery program mainly for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander adults who are intoxicated or at risk of intoxication.
Job Description:
The Care Worker will be responsible for providing social and personal support services to the clients of APDC and to maintain a safe and secure environment for clients to receive services that they require. The applicant will be responsible for client safety during rest and recovery and where appropriate make referrals to other suitable agencies on client's behalf.
Candidates Need:
* Good written and oral communication skills.
* Sound level of computer knowledge.
* Strong understanding of privacy and confidentiality principles.
* Willingness to work flexible hours, including afternoon, night, and weekend shifts
* Ability to communicate effectively and sensitively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
* Must have basic knowledge of data reporting/entry.
* Current National Police Check
