About your opportunity
The Clinical Nurse (CN) - DABIT is responsible for delivering brief interventions to consumers with substance use disorders and alcohol and other drug (AOD) concerns who present to the Townsville University Hospital Emergency Department (TUH ED).
The CN provides a comprehensive range of drug and alcohol nursing services, including triage, screening, and brief interventions. The role involves working collaboratively with multidisciplinary professionals to build knowledge and clinical skills in evidence-based assessment and intervention within the drug and alcohol field.
The position operates within a person-centred and recovery-oriented framework, supporting consumer collaboration and participation in their healthcare and includes the provision of an extended-hours service.
Requirements:
Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent certification and registration with AHPRA.
Appointees will be required to work all shifts in accordance with the unit roster, which will include participation in an on-call roster.
