An opportunity has become available for a spray painter to join our growing team. This is a permanent full-time position with an immediate start available. Responsibilities:
Determine the appropriate painting equipment to be used Set up components, products & machines for painting Removing, replacing and repairing parts required for paint preparation
Communicate with other production departments to organise components/products/machines Selecting, cleaning and preparing work in advance Grinding, sanding and cleaning surfaces of items to be painted
Masking areas not to be painted by covering with masking tape and paper Selecting and mixing paint shades to match product colour Loading paint, oil, lacquer, varnish and rustproofing agents into spray equipment
Connecting hoses to spray equipment and adjusting spray nozzles to required pressure Securing items to be sprayed within spray booths or placing them onto conveyors Applying primer and finish coats with spray-guns, and sanding surfaces between coats
Touching up paintwork and applying polish to products / machines Painting logos on products / machines Removing masking papers, and waxing and polishing finished paintwork
Directing spray guns to apply even coatings Moving items to drying areas and stacking them for further painting and packaging Starting and monitoring extractor and drying fans, and heaters
Cleaning nozzles, containers and hoses of equipment Treating machines with rust-proofing chemicals May operate paint dipping baths
Mixing coating solutions and regulate their temperature Follow and enforce strict safety regulations such as wearing protective masks, glasses, painting protecting clothes. Maintain and organise repair of tools and equipment for role and team.
Covering medium to heavy fabrication, to be successful you need to have the following; Certificate I, II or III in Vehicle or Industrial Painting and or relevant experience as a painter.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Ability to read schedules and job cards, work to a time frame and complete tasks with a high-end finish Eye for detail and quality
Physically fit for manual work Be able to read and produce from computer generated drawings Happy to ask questions if something is not clear, to give and take on feedback.
Hold safety in high regard Be an autonomous employee Attendance, punctuality and reliability is a must
