Overview
Drillers Offsider (Assistant) | FIFO from Townsville or Brisbane | HR Required. True Resources is seeking motivated individuals to join as Driller’s Offsiders, with the option of casual or traineeship positions. The program aims to build the next generation of Drillers, Supervisors, and Operations Managers.
The Role
Working across Queensland, you will perform a physically demanding yet rewarding role alongside experienced Drillers. You will gain new skills, earn competitive compensation, and build long-term career opportunities. The Traineeship option provides required on-site certifications (including Cert II).
What Is Expected On The Job
- Listen to the Driller and follow their guidance
- Conduct daily pre-start equipment checks
- Complete necessary safety paperwork and processes
- Assist with routine rig, machine, equipment, and tool maintenance and cleaning
- Load and unload heavy vehicles
- Assist in set up / dismantle / move rigs and associated equipment
- Manual handling of drill rods, sample bags, core trays, etc.
- Other duties as required
What Stands Out to Our Team
- A background in a labour-intensive role (e.g., concreting, farming, plumbing, bricklaying, general labour)
- Any previous FIFO mining experience in any role
- Current qualifications: WA HAZWOPER (WAH), 4WD, First Aid, Standard 11 (S11), Coal Board Medical
To Be Successful, You Must Have and Provide
- HR-B Unrestricted Licence with no restrictions
- Prior Driller’s Offsider experience
- Currently reside in Queensland
- Ability to pass a pre-employment medical
- Clean Police Record from within the last 3 months
- Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency
- Current and valid S11
- Willingness to work hard and train
Physical and Mental Fitness
Serious physical and mental fitness is required to succeed in Offsiding. The role involves extensive manual labour, with potential exposure to confined spaces, dust, and other environmental challenges.
