Metal Machinist - First Class

Full‐time position (38–40 hours per week) at SWANGROVE HOLDINGS PTY LTD, 15 Vostan Rd, Canning Vale WA 6155.

Salary: $75,000 - $90,000.

Responsibilities

• Set up, calibrate and operate CNC laser cutting and turret punching machines to manufacture precision metal components in accordance with job specifications and production schedules.
• Interpret detailed engineering drawings, cutting files and production documentation to determine machining requirements, material specifications and manufacturing processes.
• Select and install appropriate tooling, dies and machine attachments, ensuring equipment is configured correctly for each production run.
• Monitor machining operations and adjust machine settings, feed rates and cutting parameters to maintain accuracy, minimise waste and achieve optimal production outcomes.
• Inspect completed components using precision measuring equipment to verify dimensions, tolerances and quality standards prior to release for further fabrication or assembly.
• Identify and rectify machining faults, tooling issues and equipment malfunctions, carrying out routine maintenance and coordinating repairs where required.
• Work closely with fabrication and production teams to ensure machined components are produced efficiently, meet customer requirements and support downstream manufacturing processes.

Requirements

• Relevant trade qualification or a closely related field, or at least 3 years of relevant industry experience in lieu of a formal qualification.
• At least 3 years of experience.
• Demonstrated ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications and production documentation accurately.
• Strong knowledge of machining processes, tooling, metal fabrication techniques and quality control procedures within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet production deadlines in a fast‐paced workshop environment.
