Job Summary
The ideal candidate for this role will have a proven track record of successfully managing administration teams and delivering high-quality patient services. Key responsibilities include collaborating with the administration manager to ensure timely and coordinated patient appointment times, providing supervision and oversight of the administration team, supporting or relieving in other roles within the team as required, processing and interpreting health fund validations, ensuring accurate cash, cheque and credit payments are received and processed daily and balanced at end of day, understanding medicare guidelines for accurate referral management and item number rulings, and understanding mbs item numbers relevant to day hospital and medical billing.
Key Responsibilities:
* Collaborate with the administration manager to ensure timely and coordinated patient appointment times.
* Provide supervision and oversight of the administration team.
* Support or relieve in other roles within the team as required.
* Process and interpret health fund validations.
* Ensure accurate cash, cheque and credit payments are received and processed daily and balanced at end of day.
* Understand medicare guidelines for accurate referral management and item number rulings.
* Understand mbs item numbers relevant to day hospital and medical billing.
Requirements:
* Prior experience supervising medical administrators (desirable).
* Demonstrated understanding of medicare billing process, private health, gap payments and safety nets.
* Ability to work autonomously and effectively in a team environment and plan, coordinate and organise workloads to achieve quality patient service outcomes in a timely manner.
* Ability to prioritise and manage time effectively.
* Prior knowledge and experience in training and development programs ensuring adequate skill levels are maintained to meet operational needs, achieve strategic goals and engage team members.
