The NSW Environment and Sustainability Team seeks a skilled Environmental Sustainability Specialist to provide expert advice on environmental and heritage matters.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement sustainable solutions for infrastructure projects and military training activities;
* Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with environmental regulations;
* Oversight of land management activities on the Defence Estate to minimize environmental impact;
* Provide technical expertise on environmental assessments and approvals;
* Conduct risk appraisal and incident management oversight to mitigate environmental risks;
* Operate within an information and spatial management system to optimize decision-making;
* Negotiate with external stakeholders to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.
Job Requirements:
* Degree in environmental science, sustainability, or related field;
* Minimum 2 years' experience in environmental consulting or government agency;
* Strong knowledge of environmental legislation and policies;
* Excellent communication and project management skills;
* Ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
