Job posting end date: 05/02/2024 Working with the Equipment Sales Team in Asia-Pacific, we are seeking a successful, ambitious, and experienced Technical Sales Engineer, who will be focused on Metso's market leading products within the automation and digital portfolio. The role will focus on growth and management of sales opportunities related to automation and digital portfolio; which includes the market leading process samplers, particle and metallurgical analyzer portfolio, in addition to our intelligent instruments (Sense products) and advanced process control solutions. An understanding of HSC Chemistry and Digital Twins will hold you in high regard. It will focus on developing business with existing customers, and therefore, a passion for travelling (minimum of 30%), engaging with customers, and understanding of customer operations is a must-have. Together with technical sales support, proposals managers and product line management, you will identify customer challenges and goals, to proactively provide recommendations and solutions to meet customer requirements. In addition, the successful candidate will act as a product expert in the Market Area (Asia-Pacific) by working in conjunction with customers, engineering houses, customer account managers and the automation and digital product teams to build the opportunity funnel and deliver Minerals Automation Solutions to our customers. As a Technical Sales Engineer, you will: Be responsible for growing the Minerals Automation portfolio in Asia-Pacific Grow existing opportunities and identify new opportunities by understanding customer challenges and goals and proposing suitable solutions. Review inquiries and work with customers and stakeholders to determine the scope of supply and selection of the solution/s to provide the "best-fit" solution offering to their challenge. Develop and communicate compelling value propositions to convert opportunities to sales. Develop and implement effective sales and business development strategies, with the emphasis on solution selling. Ensure technical and commercial integrity of the proposed solutions with the goal to meet or exceed customer expectations. Identify cross-sell and upsell opportunities for the Minerals Automation portfolio into other solution offerings. Continuously follow-up the opportunity pipeline with customers and internal stakeholders Comply with sales process and proposals. Demonstrate a good understanding of the market and competitor proposition. Present the Minerals Automation portfolio, its capabilities and business value to customers and internal stakeholders. Attend business meetings with clients as required Promote Metso's automation portfolio at trade shows, conferences, webinars and customer-seminars Contribute to sales materials, budgeting, continuous improvement of tools and way of working Contribute to continuous improvement and innovation of portfolio by sharing the customer and market feedback and idea Who you are: Metallurgist or Process Control Engineer with at least 5-years of practical experience in technical sales, metallurgy, or mineral processing – with site experience highly regarded. Successful track-record of sales achievements. Excellent ability to understand technical solutions for mineral processing applications. Good capability to understand technical documentation, drawings, process flow and instrumentation diagrams. Passion for continuous learning in mineral and metallurgical processing, industrial automation, digital technologies, and solutions. A high degree of commercial acumen. (i.e., excellent communication skills, business development, contract negotiation, marketing skills) and a good understanding of common commercial terms, business models and practices used in international trade.
