High Voltage Technician / Protection Testing Specialist
Due to continued growth within our Engineering Services Division, we are seeking an experienced High Voltage Technician to join our Gladstone team.
As part of our Gladstone Engineering Services team, you will be responsible for delivering HV and LV testing, commissioning, maintenance and fault‐finding activities across a range of industrial and commercial sites. The role will involve both field based technical work and client interaction, with opportunities to assist in mentoring apprentices and developing junior technicians.
Responsibilities
* HV and LV secondary injection testing and commissioning
* Protection relay testing and fault finding
* Primary injection testing and primary plant testing activities
* Testing and maintenance of switchgear, transformers and associated infrastructure
* HV switching operations and isolations
* Interpretation of protection schematics and electrical drawings
* Preparation of technical reports and test documentation
* Supporting safe execution of works in accordance with Nilsen and client procedures
* Liaising with clients and site stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery
Mandatory Qualifications & Experience
* Queensland Electrical Mechanic Licence
* White Card
* Current Driver's Licence
* HV Switching Accreditation or willingness to obtain
* Experience with HV/LV commissioning and maintenance activities
* Experience in secondary protection testing and commissioning
* Industrial or utility experience highly regarded
* Experience with protection relay platforms including Schneider, SEL, ABB or Siemens
* Primary injection testing experience
* Familiarity with Omicron or similar testing equipment
* Exposure to mining, heavy industrial or utility environments
* Strong troubleshooting and fault‐finding capability
