What you'll do
Coordinate work area activities, review priorities and manage practical aspects of service planning and the scheduling of work programs, ensuring that delivered services comply with service level agreements, established work standards, procedures and corporate policy.
Complete calibration and calibration verification activities in accordance with procedures and NATA accreditation requirements.
Ensure staff follow documented procedures and perform work in accordance with NATA requirements and associated standards.
Independently solve complex technical problems regarding health technology equipment and systems, with a major focus on metrology and scientific/pathology equipment and systems.
Deliver specialised technical services including installation, commissioning, complex repairs and preventive maintenance of heath technology equipment.
About you
We are searching for someone who has:
At least an Associate Diploma (generally graduating prior to the year 2000) or a Diploma or Advanced Diploma (or equivalent) (Year 2000 onwards), tertiary, or equivalent formal qualification(s) in the field of Engineering.
The licences, certifications and accreditations required to carry out activities within the relevant discipline areas, or willingness and ability to make significant progress towards obtaining such during the first 6 months of employment. For example: Restricted Electrical Work Licence.
Proven expert level of knowledge, expertise and skill in the maintenance, installation and technical support of health technology and/or scientific/laboratory equipment and systems.
Proven ability to apply independent judgment and initiative to effectively plan, schedule, coordinate and carry out technical service delivery.
Proven ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, including clinical or laboratory staff, equipment suppliers, service providers, team members and managers.
Proven ability to use information systems and software to record, retrieve, manage, analyse, and present data.
The ability to demonstrate a commitment to the principles of quality management and continuous quality improvement.
Please note: Successful applicants must be willing to undergo training to successfully obtain NATA Signatory Status within the BTS Metrology NATA laboratory scope of accreditation in the first 12 months.
