SIMON JOHNSON is the retail face of Calendar Cheese Company, Australia's leading importer and distributor of domestic and international specialty cheese, caviar, and premium dry goods. We service premium retailers, restaurants & airlines across Australia, offering an extensive selection of quality cheeses, caviar and dry goods sourced from dairies, affineurs and producers around the world. In our retail stores we provide a guest experience with walk-in fromageries or cheese counters and a range of quality food products and homewares sourced locally and globally.
About the Role
SIMON JOHNSON Retail Assistants are people who have a passion for food and customer service. They demonstrate food retail experience with an understanding of operating systems. This role requires availability during the busy Christmas period and may include weekend and public holiday shifts.
Responsibilities
* Provide exceptional customer service at all times to create a memorable in-store experience.
* Help build the customer base through high levels of customer service.
* Provide extensive product knowledge.
* Ensure the store is well presented at all times.
* Ensure work areas, machinery, furniture, utensils and equipment are cleaned and well maintained.
* Work to company QA standards.
* Stock products on shelves and label correctly.
* Operate POS registers and calculate change when required.
* Accurately process online orders, including picking, packing and dispatch.
Skills and Experience
* Prior experience in food retail is viewed favourably; experience in customer service-oriented roles is essential.
* POS experience is an advantage.
* Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Teams and Outlook).
* Strong work ethic with Saturday availability.
* Organisational and time management skills with the ability to multitask and reprioritise.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to work autonomously and meet deadlines; proactive and able to work under pressure.
* Can-do, team-focused attitude and strong interpersonal skills for customer and team interactions.
* Attention to detail and accurate key entry skills.
