About the opportunity
An exciting opportunity exists to join Newport Recycling as a Casual Administration Officer. The Administration Officer will operate our weighbridge system, provide office support to the business operations and report on finance-related activities and customer relations. The Administration Officer will report directly to the Admin Supervisor and General Manager for all day-to-day office operations.

Newport Recycling is one of the premier locations in Cairns for processing non-ferrous metals, scrap steel and end-of-life vehicles. Essential
* Weighbridge Operating experience (desirable but not essential, training will be provided)
* Advanced ability in Microsoft Office suite of products

* Strong organisational skills with a proven ability to set priorities and manage workloads to meet deadlines
* Adaptable to change with a solution-focused approach
Job Summary
Operations
* Assist in the implementation of the company’s processes and procedure for continuous improvement
* Create bookings for transport and logistics managing skip bin locations, bookings and pick-up dates and times
* Conduct weighbridge documentation and reporting
Financial Management
* Assist in the preparation of wages and payroll
* Prepare accounts receivable and accounts payable
* Managing and balancing the cash register
* Preparation of cash and EFT invoicing and payments receipting fees to stakeholders
Customer Relations & Administration
* Answering phones, booking/confirming appointments
* Management of office stationery and supplies
Manage WHS Obligations
* Assist management with WHS compliance, policies and reporting
* Ensure all visitors/contractors sign in and have the correct safety equipment and maintain the visitor register
Workforce Performance
* Support HR-related tasks including staff recruitment, policies, employee documentation and employee induction and training needs
