The OpportunityThe role of the Infrastructure Maintenance Team Member (Manly Dam) is to undertake planned and reactive maintenance of Open Space Infrastructure to ensure Northern Beaches Council Assets are maintained to the highest standards.
We are looking for someone with a landscape construction-open space maintenance/management background.
The role requires problem solving aptitude and the ability to undertake a variety of tasks.
Works predominantly focus on picnic areas and tracks within Manly Dam or Stony Range but may involve assisting teams working in other areas.
Key Focus AreasUndertake daily operational activities including Park opening and setup, checking bookings, distribution of signage, cleaning, site inspections (picnic areas, tracks and foreshore), general labouring and maintenance tasks.Support projects, programs and events for Manly Dam and Stony Range including for bushland and water quality managementUndertake infrastructure maintenance works safely and efficiently to approved service levelsIdentify priorities to deliver effective maintenance programs on timeMaintain WHS&E standards ensuring compliance against relevant Statutory RegulationsEncourage and support a positive Team CultureCommunicate effectively with our customers to efficiently resolve requests and contribute to a positive customer experience.
About YouWhat you will bring to our teamRelevant TAFE qualification or significant relevant experience, with practical experience working in landscaping/construction industry or similar field.Demonstrated experience and understanding of service delivery requirements in parks, sports-fields, foreshore areas or similar environment.Ability to use computer-based systems.AQF 3 – Chemical certification or willing to obtain within three monthsChainsaw Competency Certification or willing to obtain within three monthsClass C (minimum) NSW Drivers licence.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision together with a commitment to working in a team environment and multi-skilling.Well organised and good level of physical ability to carry out all the duties of the role safelyStrong focus on Workplace Health and SafetySkills and knowledge in a range of minor plant and equipmentDemonstrated skills & experience in manual handlingGeneral Worksite Induction Ticket.
