The Role
We are seeking flexible individuals with the ability to work independently, are team players who enjoy working with children and have a strong sense of social perceptiveness. Suitable applicants should possess cultural awareness and be focused on delivering programs to individuals and groups, including students with complex needs and diagnosed disabilities such as Autism Spectrum Disorder, Global Developmental Delay, mental health, trauma, and other developmental disabilities/disorders.
Suitable applicants ideally have the capacity to support the overall health and emotional well-being of our students and help them reach their full potential through the development of their academic, physical and social skills.
Building meaningful relationships with children and their families will be an important part of this role, and as such, effective communication and interpersonal skills are highly desirable. Applicants will ideally have the ability to work collaboratively and contribute to a professional team in assisting with the implementation of education programmes, as well as high level organisational skills that will assist in the delivery of effective programmes and subsequent feedback and evaluation to teachers.
We highly value competent written and oral communication skills, the ability to effectively interact with students with special needs, a commitment to developing positive and productive relationships, embedding a proactive, inclusive, and respectful approach. Sound computer skills and the ability to create student resources are also desirable.
Eligibility
Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident, or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment.
Obtain a valid Working With Children Check before you start.
Consent to and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education's Screening Unit before you start.

Demonstrated good written and oral communication skills, including the ability to interact with students with special needs, parents and teaching professionals on the provision of educational programmes, and to assist teachers in understanding students where necessary.
Demonstrated good organisational skills that will assist in the delivery and development of effective educational programmes to students and subsequent feedback to teaching professionals or psychologists.
