About the Role
The Volunteer Victim Assistant Worker is a key position within our organization, reporting to the Business Services Team Leader/Volunteer Development Co-Ordinator. This individual will work collaboratively with staff and volunteers across both Alice Springs and Darwin offices to provide critical support services and prevention activities for victims of crime in the Northern Territory.
Main Responsibilities
To assist victims of crime in recovering, restoring, and growing through:
* Providing practical and emotional support services
* Advocating for their rights
* Promoting awareness of their needs within the community and government
Key Skills and Qualifications
Candidates should possess excellent communication skills, empathy, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Prior experience in supporting victims of crime or a related field is highly desirable.
