 
        
        Procurement Specialist Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Procurement Specialist to join our team in Western Sydney.
Key Responsibilities:
 * Prepare and manage Requests for Tender, Quotations, and Expressions of Interest to achieve Council objectives.
 * Review contract documents to ensure best value for money.
 * Manage special projects and maintain procurement Quality Management systems.
 * Recommend process and service improvements as part of continuous improvement initiatives.
 * Ensure compliance and probity in tendering and contract management practices.
 * Independently prepare and release procurement documents, facilitate evaluations, and lead panels according to Council methodology.
 * Prepare contract documents and assist with post-tender debriefs.
 * Manage risk, ensure legislative compliance, and develop innovative procurement solutions.
 * Handle negotiations, resolve issues, and manage confidential matters in procurement activities.
To be successful in this role, you will require relevant tertiary qualifications or a Cert IV/Diploma in Government Procurement and Contracting. You must also have a current NSW driver's licence and access to a vehicle. Strong knowledge of the Local Government Act 1993 and related tendering regulations is essential. Proficient skills in electronic tendering, contract systems, and evaluation software are required. A strong understanding of market approaches, tendering, and quotations in a government context is also necessary. Excellent customer service, interpersonal, verbal communication, and report writing skills are a must.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. They will be highly organized and able to prioritize tasks effectively. A high level of discretion and confidentiality is required when handling sensitive information.
Required Skills and Qualifications
