Our client is a community-based organisation working to strengthen access to cancer treatment pathways and practical supports, helping individuals and families stay connected to care closer to home.
The General Manager position focuses on implementing and leading strategies surrounding the organisation’s fundraising, service development, partnerships and operational systems, with the core focus of supporting the cancer impacted community to live well.
About the Role
As the General Manager you will:
Translate the Board’s strategy into action, growing the organisation’s profile and influence across the region.
Build a diversified income portfolio (partnerships, grants, philanthropy, events, contracts) develop and deliver on budgets, forecasts and targets.
Lead the growth and continuous improvement of the organisation’s operations and services, shaping programs, securing funding, and ensuring strong systems, agreements and reporting.
Deepen partnerships, drive advocacy, and grow an engaged supporter community aligned with the organisation’s brand.
Lead and develop a multidisciplinary high-performing team delivering integrated cancer care services, including GP, nursing care coordination, exercise physiology, and allied health with clear priorities and accountability, while enabling confident decision-making throughout the organisation and ensuring high-quality, person-centred support for the cancer impacted community
Provide key strategic feedback and advice to the Board through clear reporting and innovative insights.
Protect the organisation by ensuring strong operations, policy, WHS, risk and compliance, and communications.
About You
Our ideal candidate will have…
Extensive executive leadership experience within the NFP, health or community service sector
· A high value in integrity, honesty and ethical business operations
Experience in leading, mentoring and developing staff
Understanding of good governance practice and ability to work effectively with a Board.
High level of financial acumen with the ability to interpret and report on financial data and understand how decisions affect the bottom line
A natural relationship builder with proven ability to cultivate meaningful partnerships across health, community, government and corporate sectors and an ability to leverage these connections to advance the organisation’s mission and expand its reach
