Position Purpose
We are calling for expressions of interest for casual staff to teach in the following disciplines:
* Undergraduate and postgraduate Law. We are particularly interested in candidates with experience or interest teaching in the following areas: Contract Law Criminal Law Civil Procedure Equity and Trusts Legal Practice and Professional Conduct Property Law Public Law, including Administrative Law and/or Constitutional Law Tort Law
* Undergraduate Criminology. We are particularly interested in candidates with experience or interest teaching in the following areas: Introduction to criminology and the criminal legal system Forensic psychology and its interface with the law Youth Justice Case management Ethics and accountability Cyber law and policy
Duties at this level will include
* Teaching at undergraduate or postgraduate level, along with related activities such as marking, provision of feedback and attendance at teaching team meetings.
* Law teaching will be primarily in person, Criminology teaching may be in person or online.
You will possess
* For teaching in core Law subjects at all levels, a primary degree in Law (Bachelor of Laws or Juris Doctor) is required.
* For tutoring in the Bachelor of Laws (Honours) at Bundoora or Bendigo, a Masters or Honours degree in Law is desirable. Candidates with a Bachelor of Laws and professional equivalence or experience will also be considered.
* For tutoring in the Juris Doctor at the City Campus, a PhD, or current enrolment in a PhD, is preferred. Candidates with a Masters or Honours degree in Law and professional equivalence or experience may also be considered.
* For teaching in the Bachelor of Criminology, an Honours or Masters degree in Criminology or related field is preferred. Candidates with a Bachelor of Criminology and professional equivalence or experience will also be considered.
* Demonstrated experience in teaching will be highly regarded for all candidates.
