**What you'll be doing**
The primary purpose of the role is to lead and participate in clinical research projects as part of the Renal Department and to maintain a research database within our clinical service.
Research: the area of research can be led by your research interests or you can be involved in current projects in the renal department.
Research database: To support research we require data entry across our clinical service, the database is now embedded across CKD, vascular access, both the surgical and medical aspects, peritoneal dialysis, home dialysis and supportive care areas. Data is entered as part of routine clinical care and part of this role will be to ensure that the patient journey is accurately reflected within the database. Integral involvement in the clinical database will provide the trainee chance to undertake research within areas of renal medicine in which they are interested.
Clinical involvement: There will be the opportunity to attend the vascular access clinic and MDT, weekly haemodialysis round, a weekly renal journal club and weekly renal grand rounds.
