Job Description

We're looking for an Associate Traffic Modeller to join our Brisbane Planning & Mobility team. This role suits an experienced modeller who enjoys solving complex network problems, building fit‐for‐purpose models, and translating analysis into clear advice for clients and design teams.

You'll work across a diverse pipeline of operational and strategic traffic modelling and transport infrastructure projects, supporting government and private sector clients with robust modelling, scenario testing and evidence‐based recommendations.

In this role, you will:

* Lead and deliver traffic modelling workstreams from scoping through to reporting and client presentation
* Develop and apply operational models (micro/meso as required), including model development, calibration and validation and option testing
* Apply industry tools such as VISSIM, Aimsun, SIDRA and EMME (and/or similar platforms) to assess network performance, identify constraints and evaluate interventions
* Prepare high‐quality technical reporting and provide clear, defensible interpretation of results for stakeholders and decision makers
* Collaborate with traffic engineers, planners and designers to provide modelling inputs that support design development and business cases
* Coach and review the work of junior modellers/analysts, contributing to capability uplift across the team (where relevant to level)

You will bring:

* Ideally, around 8+ years of experience in a similar or related environment or role
* Demonstrated experience in traffic/transport modelling in an Australian consulting or client environment
* Hands‐on proficiency in one or more of VISSIM, Aimsun, SIDRA and EMME (and a willingness to broaden your toolkit)
* Strong capability in model calibration/validation, scenario development, results processing and communicating insights
* Excellent written communication skills with experience producing modelling reports and/or contributing to business case technical sections
* A collaborative mindset and confidence in engaging with clients and internal stakeholders
* Relevant tertiary qualification (e.g., engineering, transport planning, mathematics/economics or related)

Why Choose WSP?

* Work in a team that collaborates nationally to solve and deliver modelling projects
* Access WSP's global expertise, tools and career development pathways in a supportive team environment
* Flexible working and an inclusive culture where you're encouraged to bring your whole self to work
