About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated Stockperson to join our team, who can handle our livestock in our lairages-stockyards.
We promote a positive working culture within the business and value honesty, reliability & integrity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Animal Welfare: Oversee the humane receiving, holding, and handling of stock, maintaining adherence to TFI's animal welfare guidelines and completing necessary documentation and checklists.
- Quality Assurance: Support quality compliance through training, monitoring, and corrective action processes, ensuring safe food production.
- Work Health & Safety: Uphold WHS practices and standards, maintaining a safe environment for self and team members.
- Collaboration & Training: Work with the Livestock Manager on stock counts and coordinate team training on animal handling and welfare protocols.
- Continuous Improvement: Encourage adherence to TFI’s “Learn-Commit-Do-Review” philosophy, driving quality and safety excellence.
- Documentation & Compliance: Verify and process National Vendor Declarations (NVD), ensure Post Sale Summaries align with purchase data, and maintain accurate records in MeatPro and Daisy systems.
- Operational Support: Assist in updating livestock records, validating data, and ensuring all animals meet the standards for slaughter.
- Communication: Liaise with various departments, including QA, Head Office, and veterinary staff, to ensure accurate reporting and stock management.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Desirable: Experience in meat or food processing, stock management skills, AUS-MEAT Sheep Meat specification level 2 certification, preferred for specific operational areas and, and working stock dogs.
Key Competencies:
- Strong communication, problem-solving, negotiation, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work constructively with supervisors, QA Officers, and team members.
- Sound computer literacy and IT skills for efficient documentation and reporting.
