Design Manager (MEP) – Decarbonisation/Net Zero-Focused Engineering Consultancy
Location: Euston office + client sites (Hybrid working)
Salary: £90,000–£120,000 DOE + 25 days annual leave + pension +annual bonus
Type: Full-time, Permanent

We're partnering a specialist MEP consultancy working at the intersection of engineering and climate action. They help major commercial property owners reduce emissions and upgrade their portfolios — from strategy to delivery.
Due to continued growth, they're seeking an experienced MEP Design Manager to lead from the front, manage a small team of engineers, and help shape their technical direction.
What You'll Be Doing
* Lead and manage a small team of MEP design engineers
* Oversee delivery of detailed Mechanical and Electrical design work
* Work directly with client stakeholders to develop bespoke decarbonisation strategies
* Undertake building surveys, energy audits, and develop MEP upgrade plans
* Use IESVE and AutoCAD to perform building simulations and develop conceptual/detailed designs
* Deliver GHG reporting, EPCs (up to Level 5, training provided), ESOS assessments (training provided)
* Oversee project delivery with PMO team, ensuring deadlines and budgets are met
* Manage team resourcing, project planning, and contribute to commercial proposals
* Hold shared P&L responsibility for the design function (with MD)
What We're Looking For
* Degree-qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, or similar
* Strong hands-on experience in mechanical building services design
* Previous experience leading or managing a design team, ideally within a small/medium-sized consultancy
* Knowledge of retrofit strategy, energy performance, and decarbonisation best practices
* Skilled in AutoCAD and IESVE (or similar simulation software)
* Comfortable working onsite with clients and supporting junior engineers
* Commercially minded and client-focused
