The Role
We're now looking for a hands‐on Maintenance Supervisor to lead frontline maintenance at our Wetherill Park Gyprock site. This is a practical leadership role where you'll be close to the action—driving uptime, supporting your team, and keeping the plant running the way it should.
This role is all about keeping the plant moving. You'll lead a team of mechanical and electrical contractors, coordinate maintenance activities, and ensure equipment reliability across the site.
You'll play a key role in improving performance, reducing downtime, and supporting ongoing site improvements.
Full‐time | Monday‐Friday 6 : 00am – 2 : 00pm | Site‐based | ASAP start
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and coordinate a team of mechanical fitters and electricians (contractors)
* Plan and oversee maintenance activities, including weekly and major shutdowns
* Provide technical support and troubleshoot plant and equipment issues
* Drive preventative maintenance and Operator Asset Care initiatives
* Manage contractors, scheduling, and day‐to‐day maintenance execution
* Monitor maintenance spend and support budgeting and capital works
* Ensure compliance with WHSE standards, permits, and statutory requirements
* Build capability within the team through coaching and development
* Work closely with production and site leadership to maintain plant performance
* Drive continuous improvement across maintenance processes and systems
About You
You're a practical leader who knows how to get the best out of a team while keeping operations running smoothly. You've worked in heavy industry, understand plant equipment, and don't shy away from getting into the detail when needed.
What you'll bring :
* Trade or engineering qualification
* Proven leadership experience in a maintenance environment
* Background in manufacturing or heavy industry (rotating equipment ideal)
* Strong fault‐finding and problem‐solving capability
* Experience managing contractors and driving accountability
* Solid understanding of safety systems, permits, and compliance
* Experience using CMMS systems (SAP highly regarded)
* Planning and scheduling experience, particularly for shutdowns
* Strong communication, time management, and conflict resolution skills
* Continuous improvement mindset (Lean / 5S / preventative maintenance)
