Allied Health Team Manager

About Ignite Healthcare

Ignite began because the system wasn't working the way it should have.

Before Ignite, there was Alice, born with cerebral palsy, in a system where families had to fight hard just to access support. Through her, her uncle, and Ignite's founder David saw the gaps clearly: people falling through them, and clinicians stretched trying to fill them.

So after studying physiotherapy and working in the field for several years, in, 2018, he built something different.

Today, Ignite is a clinician-led, community-based allied health provider working across Melbourne and Brisbane. Our work happens in real-world settings – homes, schools, communities, and hubs, grounded in practical, person-centred care.

We're values-driven and intentional about how we work and grow, creating space for clinicians to do their best work, without losing sight of the people it's for.

Ignite started to support people like Alice. That purpose still guides us.

About the role

Due to our exciting growth, we are looking for an Allied Health Team Manager to head our West hub in Melbourne.

As a community Allied Health Team Manager, you will provide treatment to disabled, paediatric and elderly clients in their own environments and help lead a team of experienced Speech Pathologists, Behaviour support practitioners, Physiotherapists, and Occupational Therapists using a multi-disciplinary approach to care.

"Clinicians in this sector need to be supported, have a culture where they can have fun, feel seen, heard, and are empowered to realise their potential, whatever that might look like.

As Ignite's leader, and as a practicing Physiotherapist myself, you are more than just a number to me. You are valued. You make change for the community we serve possible. You are our focus.

In this way, IGNITE has managed to have a real impact, even being awarded the best practice for quality management in the work we do. I invite you to join us on this journey towards meaningful healthcare"

* David Dinca (Managing Director, Physiotherapist)

Benefits

* Attractive Remuneration: Excellent pay package with a travel allowance (fuel cards/toll reimbursement), uniforms, $5,000 two-year retention bonus, laptop/tablet, mobile phone, and salary packaging options for vehicles available.
* Career Progression: Real opportunities to develop your skills as a clinician in a variety of settings, coach and mentor students and perhaps even develop your own leadership potential.
* Work-Life Balance: We encourage flexibility and wellbeing, you will manage your own schedule and we will support you to thrive in your role – whether you chose to work from home or from our beautiful office spaces.
* Vibrant and Ambitious Team: Enjoy working with people who genuinely want to make a difference to the way healthcare is delivered in Australia.
* Professional Development and Tailored Caseload: Training and CPD allowance of $2000 per annum, and 2 days paid study leave provided. We will tailor your caseload to your strengths and interests

Responsibilities

* Support interdisciplinary team members at dedicated hub to meet business objectives.

What we're looking for

* Tertiary education in Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Speech Pathology
* Registered with AHPRA or SPA
* Experience working in the disability sector (NDIS, My Aged Care – Home Care Package)
* Proven experience in people management or someone willing to take the next step in their career.
* Sincere passion for helping a diverse range of clients.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Superior customer service skills and ability to establish a genuine rapport with clients.
* Current driver's license.

At Ignite, we're on the lookout for people who are curious, honest, and willing to give things a go. People who ask questions, reflect on their practice, and care deeply about the people they work with.

You don't need to have it all figured out, just a genuine interest in learning, growing, and doing the work thoughtfully.

You're welcome here.

Our team is made up of people with different backgrounds, experiences, and ways of thinking, and we're better for it.

Those differences shape how we learn from each other, solve problems, and show up for the people we support.

We're committed to fair, inclusive hiring and a workplace where everyone has the opportunity to belong, grow, and do their best work. We warmly welcome people with disability (including mental health conditions), people from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds, people from the LGBTQI+ community, veterans, carers, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to our team.

Our five-step apply-to-hire process

Our process is simple, transparent, and designed to help you feel confident every step of the way.

Step 1 - Apply online

Pop your details into the online form. We review every application carefully to understand your experience, your interests, and what you're hoping for in your role.

Step 2 - A quick phone call

If it feels like a good fit, we'll reach out for a short phone conversation. It's a chance to get to know each other and make sure we're heading in the right direction.

Step 3 - We'll meet in person

Next, you'll join us for an in-person interview. You'll meet some of the people you'd be working alongside and get a feel for what life at Ignite is really like.

Step 4 - Background checks

As things progress, we'll complete the routine checks that come with any allied health role so everything's set up well as we keep moving through the process.

Step 5 - Your offer

If it feels like the right fit, we'll send through an offer with the essentials: your start date, your contract, and the hub you'll be joining.

And of course, if you have any questions as you're looking it over, we're here to walk you through whatever you need.

Our values

Integrity first

Doing the right thing, even when it's not the easiest option.

At Ignite, integrity shows up in clear expectations, ethical practice, and honest conversations. We're upfront with the people we work with and each other, because trust is the foundation of good work and strong teams.

What this means for you:

You'll work in an environment where values guide decisions, support is genuine, and you don't have to compromise your professional judgement to get things done.

Beginners mindset

Curiosity is encouraged. Questions are expected.

We believe growth starts with not having all the answers. A beginner's mindset means staying curious, open to learning, and willing to try, reflect, and try again, no matter your experience level.

What this means for you:

You're supported to ask questions, learn from others, and keep building your skills at every stage of your career, from new graduate to experienced clinician.

Progress over perfection

Real growth beats getting it "right" the first time.

We care more about thoughtful progress than flawless performance. Learning takes time, and mistakes are part of the process. What matters is reflection, support, and moving forward together.

What this means for you:

You won't be expected to be perfect. You'll be encouraged to grow, build confidence, and develop at a pace that's sustainable, with guidance when you need it.

Joy in the journey

Meaningful work, done by humans, together.

We take our work seriously, but not ourselves. Joy of the journey is about connection, shared wins, and creating a workplace where people feel supported, valued, and genuinely glad to show up.

What this means for you:

You'll be part of a team that celebrates progress, supports each other through challenges, and finds moments of joy along the way, because work should feel human, not heavy.
