The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to provide technical and site-based support across Shaw's diverse civil construction projects. Working closely with Project Managers and Supervisors, you'll apply your engineering expertise to ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to specification. This is a chance to contribute to some of Tasmania's most important infrastructure while developing your career with a respected contractor.
What You'll Do
* Provide technical and engineering support across a variety of civil projects.
* Interpret drawings, standards, and specifications to guide site execution.
* Prepare and monitor ITPs, quality records, and site documentation.
* Assist Project Managers with planning, budgets, schedules, and reporting.
* Ensure compliance with WHS, environmental, and quality management systems.
* Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and consultants on technical matters.
* Contribute to continuous improvement and innovation in project delivery.
Qualifications & Experience
* Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent).
* 2–4 years' post-graduate engineering experience in civil construction.
* Demonstrated capability in road, dam, irrigation, mining, or infrastructure projects.
* Proven ability to interpret drawings and manage site documentation.
* Working knowledge of WHS requirements and compliance processes.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Proficiency in MS Office and exposure to project management software.
* Current Australian Driver's Licence (essential).
* Highly regarded: Professional registration with Engineers Australia, First Aid/CPR, and Tasmanian project exposure.

Important Information
This role involves statewide travel across Tasmania. It is best suited to candidates who are already based in Tasmania, or those genuinely looking to relocate for long-term, local project work.
