Join the ANMF Team – Make a Difference Where It Matters

Do you believe nurses, midwives and care workers deserve strong voices, fair conditions and someone in their corner when it counts?

The Australian Nursing and Midwifery Federation (ANMF) Tasmanian Branch is on the lookout for a part‑time Organiser (0.6 FTE) to join our Hobart-based team on a 6‑month fixed-term contract, with an immediate start.

This role is ideal for a nurse or midwife who loves working with people, solving problems, and standing up for what’s right. As an Organiser, you’ll be right at the heart of the action — supporting members, tackling workplace issues, and helping build strong, confident union communities across Tasmania’s health system.

Secondment opportunities may be available for suitable applicants currently employed in the public sector.

About You

You’re someone who:

* is a qualified Nurse or Midwife

* Cares deeply about fairness, equity and workers’ rights

* Is a confident communicator who can listen, explain, advocate and influence

* Enjoys problem-solving and isn’t afraid of a challenge

* Has an interest in workplace relations, advocacy or organising (or is ready to dive in and learn fast)

* Shares ANMF’s values and wants to make a real, meaningful impact

Experience in organising, advocacy, industrial relations, health or union environments is a bonus — but passion, attitude and alignment with our purpose matter just as much.

Why Work With Us?

Alongside meaningful, values‑driven work, we offer excellent conditions under our Enterprise Bargaining Agreement (EBA), including:

* Competitive remuneration

* 16.5% superannuation

* Pro‑rata accrued days off

* Paid leave during the Christmas closure (no impact on your annual leave balance)

* Paid study leave

* Flexible working arrangements

* A welcoming, supportive and genuinely purpose‑led team

Ready to Get Started?

If this sounds like your kind of role, we’d love to hear from you.

Please submit your expression of interest via the Apply button, including your current resume and a cover letter telling us who you are, why advocacy matters to you, and what you’d bring to the ANMF Tasmanian Branch.

For general employment enquiries, reach out to our Human Resources, Simone McWilliams, at *****@anmftas.org.au.
