What You’ll Be Doing
As Legal Counsel, you’ll take on a hands‑on role supporting the business across a wide range of commercial and compliance matters. Working closely with project teams and Senior Legal Counsel, you’ll provide clear, practical legal advice to help manage risk and support day‑to‑day operations.
A key focus of the role will be assisting with the negotiation and administration of commercial agreements, including engineering, supply and service contracts. You’ll be involved across the contract life‑cycle, from drafting and negotiation through to contract delivery, including variations, claims and general contract management.
You’ll also work across a variety of commercial matters, reviewing and negotiating supplier, partner and customer agreements, and supporting tender and proposal processes. This will give you broad exposure to how legal supports operational delivery in a project‑based environment.
In addition, you’ll assist with compliance and insurance matters, coordinate with external legal advisors when needed, and contribute to improving contract templates, processes and guidance materials. There will also be opportunities to support internal teams with practical guidance on contract administration and legal obligations.
What You’ll Bring
* An unrestricted practising certificate in South Australia, or eligibility to obtain one, with a minimum of 4–5 years’ post‑qualification experience
* Experience in commercial law, with exposure to drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts
* Strong understanding of contract principles and risk allocation in commercial agreements
* Experience supporting contract management or contract administration across the contract life‑cycle
* Ability to provide clear, practical legal advice to non‑legal stakeholders
* Strong attention to detail, with the ability to manage competing priorities
* A proactive and collaborative approach, with well‑developed communication skills
* Exposure to engineering, construction, or project‑based environments (highly regarded but not essential)

Location
The successful applicant will be based in South Australia, working from our purpose‑built facilities at Thebarton.
