Where you'll be working
The Shoalhaven area is one of the fastest growing areas of NSW with over 5,000 new residents moving here every year. The area offers beautiful beaches of Jervis Bay, rainforests of Kangaroo Valley, and tourist townships like Berry, all within a 30-minute drive. Shoalhaven Hospital is a busy rural hospital that employs over 1,000 staff and is the main acute care hospital for the region, providing emergency, medical, surgical, orthopaedic, intensive care, children's ward, maternity, cancer care and sub-acute mental health services. It is currently undergoing a $438 million redevelopment.
What you'll be doing
Responsible for providing effective medical and surgical care of general surgical patients at trainee level, under the supervision of specialist staff.

Successful applicants must provide certified documentation of vaccination history and pathology as part of their recruitment documentation. Selection Criteria
MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
Completion of at least four postgraduate years and successful completion of the examination requirements of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians, or equivalent, and be eligible to undertake subspecialty training in Australia.
Excellent theoretical knowledge and clinical judgement with a dedicated commitment to Gastroenterology training in NSW.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary clinical team – diligence, punctuality, organisation, record keeping, time management, problem solving skills and teamwork.
Advanced verbal, written and interpersonal skills, with the capacity to vary communication style in line with the needs of diverse audiences.
Demonstrated ability to provide empathetic and expert clinical care.
Demonstrated commitment to continuing professional development and self-education, research and teaching.
Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, patient safety and risk management.
